The Utilis Multidec 1600 series are thin grooving and micro turning tools. The inserts for these tools have widths from 0.0019" (that of a human hair) to 0.108". Capable of work under 0.125" in diameter with cutting edge repeatability within 0.0004", the inserts are available with a variety of coatings. Other Utilis products include the Multidec 3000 series inserts for front and back turning, grooving, turning and threading work.

 

Also available are live tooling attachments (15,000 maximum rpm) that serve as a direct replacement for many Swiss machines with no retrofitting required. According to the company, the attachments provide increased speed, feeds, faster cycle times and enhanced micro tool life.
