The Star PTG-6L tool and cutter grinder is a five-axis, CNC-controlled cutter grinder for grinding, sharpening and reconditioning a wide variety of cutting tools. It is equipped with a six-station wheel pack changer. The machine is built for high productivity and precision and engineered to profitably manufacture complex cutting tools, the company says.
The grinder features integrated linear motor and direct-drive rotary technology. It comes equipped with a traveling tool platform for CNC steady rest and workholding adjustment, a high volume loader, NUM Flexium controller, and tool grinding software from Numroto. The machine also has grinding wheel auto-sticking capabilities for unmanned operations.
