The ScribeWriter tool from Tapmatic enables marking workpieces during the machining process without requiring spindle rotation or special installation. Programming for the tool is similar to engraving, and the marking depth can be adjusted by simply turning the sleeve. The tool is capable of marking round or uneven surfaces without the need to adjust the Z axis, the company says. The tool is suitable for marking part numbers, date codes, job numbers or logos in materials ranging to 62 HRc.
