Toolholding System Offers High Performance at Fast Speeds
Parlec’s high-performance Eros toolholding system is said to offer high velocity, improved cutting performance and longer tool life.
Parlec’s high-performance Eros toolholding system is said to offer high velocity, improved cutting performance and longer tool life. The design of the collet seat and collet nut combined with tight tolerances promote high gripping force. The chuck body and nut utilize two pilot diameters, one above and one below the threads, to give the nut the best radial position to the seat and avoid clamping distortion. The holders are balanced to G2.5, and the aerodynamic design of the nut enables high performance at fast speeds without unbalance or vibrations, the company says. The toolholding system is said to provide concentricity of less than 0.00012" at 3×D.
