The TP0500 turning grade is designed for a variety of steel machining operations with stable cutting conditions and where a lot of heat is generated. The turning grade is equipped for applications requiring high metal removal rates, such as the machining of large components for the power-generation segment or for high speed and high-productivity applications found in the automotive sector, the company says.
According to the company, the grade can be used at increased speeds, and benefits include fewer machine offsets and longer times between insert indexes. The grade also is said to machine harder parts and hold tighter tolerances.
