The Super FF (Fine and Flat) coating on the company’s new insert grades, AC820P and AC830P, is wear resistant and reduces the possibility of chip adhesion because of its smoothness. Combined with newly developed carbide substrates, the AC800P series offers high speed capabilities and a resistance to breakage when machining steels and stainless steels, the company says.
The AC820P is designed for general-purpose machining and is available with a variety of chipbreaker styles, including the high efficiency EGE style. Among P30 grades, the AC830P is recommended for applications involving interrupted cuts. According to the company, its toughness can sustain more impacts than conventional P30 grades.
