WIDIA (Booth W-1452) is announcing its sponsorship of David Buchberger’s Ultra 4 Unlimited Class racer for the 2012-2013 season and has his car on display in the booth. Ultra 4 racing is a combination of desert racing at speeds exceeding 100 mph and rock-crawling portions, requiring gear ratios of 100-to-1 or more. Buchberger is vice president of Hi-Speed Corp. (Thousand Oaks, CA), a WIDIA distributor, and has participated in three King of the Hammers races, the premier event in Ultra 4 class racing. WIDIA’s sponsorship ties in with its theme this year of “Extreme Challenges – Extreme Results.”
