PRAB’s ultrafiltration systems for separating emulsified oils and suspended solids from wastewater and coolant use a hollow fiber, tubular or spiral-wound membrane to achieve required micron filtration levels. According to the company, one of these ultrafiltration systems can reduce oily water volumes by as much as 90 percent without the use of chemical additives. PRAB also says that machine shops can also decrease the cost of wash water detergents by as much as 75 percent and reduce disposal costs by 90 percent.

Standard PRAB ultrafiltration systems can process between 100 and 6,000 gallons per day, with larger systems available upon request. The effluent can typically be discharged to sewer or reused. PRAB ultrafiltration units are available as skid-mounted, fully-automated systems.
