Toshiba Machine Co. America offers the TUE-100 vertical turning center. With a 1-m (40") table diameter, the turning center is designed for high-speed, heavy-duty cutting of loads ranging to 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs).
The machine uses a design based on that of the larger TUE series models, including an identical ram cross-section to support the railhead for increased precision. Sitting within a more compact 5 × 3.5 × 4-m (200" × 138" × 174") footprint compared to larger models, the turning center features a cast iron bed designed for efficient chip removal. Two types of bearings support both the radial and axial loads of the table, improving cutting performance. A range of table speeds are offered in order to provide quality surface finishes on a variety of materials. The TUE-100 turning center offers feed rates ranging to approximately 2,000 mm/min., reducing cycle times and increasing productivity, the company says.
