Vincennes University Supports Manufacturing Education
VU has established relationships with Hurco and Index to provide real-world tools and experiences for its students.
Vincennes University (Vincennes, Indiana) has formed a partnership with Indianapolis, Indiana-based Hurco designed to further manufacturing education. The VU College of Technology has chosen Hurco CNC machining and turning centers for use in its Precision Machining Lab. Hurco has pledged to continually upgrade the machine tools, giving students consistent access to the latest equipment.
The university also recently entered into a training arrangement with Index Corporation, located in Noblesville, Indiana. This year, Index hosted four VU manufacturing technology students for three weeks at its 100,000-square-foot sales and engineering facility. These senior-year students had a chance to work with Index and Traub machine tools and learn more about working at an OEM machine tool vendor. The company plans to extend the offer to a new group of students next year.
