SMTCL Americas introduces its VMC1100B vertical machining center, which features a 12,000-rpm direct-drive spindle with 30-hp peak performance, 290-psi delivery of coolant through the spindle and a 24-position toolchanger. Delivering 1,260-ipm rapid traverse rates, the machine’s X, Y and Z travels measure 43" × 24" × 25.5". Like all the company’s VMC-B series machines, this one is equipped with a chip conveyor, spindle chiller, air-conditioned electrical cabinet, air gun, coolant gun and oil skimmer. It is available with either a FANUC 0i-MD or Siemens 828D digital CNC. In addition, conversational control packages for FANUC’ Manual Guide i or Siemens’s Shop Mill are both available.
Other options include a chip blaster 1,000-psi through-spindle coolant system, Midaco pallet changer, FANUC robot and Golden Sun rotary table.
