The FlexC collet systems are flexible, sealed collet heads that can interchange in seconds. The 42- and 65-mm FlexC spindle-mount systems are designed for virtually all brands of CNC lathes, and FlexC collet blocks are designed for mill tables. The collet heads are interchangeable between lathe and mill applications. With a gripping range of ±0.020" (0.5 mm) above and below its nominal size, the collet does not need to be changed for non-ground barstock variation.
Pull-back through-hole, pull-back stationary stop, and push-to-close dead-length spindle-mount systems are available for primary and secondary spindles for CNC lathe applications. One spindle mount enables collet heads to be used from job to job. The heads are fully interchangeable with common models. Pull-back models feature 0.0004" TIR accuracy. Standard collets are available in 42- and 65-mm round, hex, square, emergency, serrations and custom sizes to grip barstock or slugged parts. FlexC S-master collets are available for shops that predominantly use S-master pads with their other machines.
The pneumatic FlexC collet block adds quick job change-over to the mill table. The modular collet blocks are compact with a low profile for increased axis travel and for maximum layout of the workspace.

Cam-actuated Swiss lathes are still the fastest way to process many parts. By adding modern bar feeders, this shop has dramatically improved their utilization with the ability to work unattended, even in a lights-out environment.

Moving to five-axis machining enabled this shop to dramatically reduce setup time and increase lights-out capacity, but success relied on the right combination of workholding and automation.
