The added benefit to in-house tool grinding is increased control. Besides savings money, you would now have complete control over tool quality, tool geometry, and delivery. And let’s just think about that for a moment. If you’re sending stuff out to be reground, then you’re in line with other customers at the regrind house that are also asking for their tools to be reground. So you have to take your place in turn. If you’re regrinding tools in-house, YOU decide which jobs have higher priority.
