Flow International will display the Mach 4, Mach 3 and Mach 2 waterjet technology.
The Mach 4 line of waterjets is equipped with a modular design that can expand to 14 m (48') in length to increase the size of the cutting area. According to the company, the system’s roller pinion system increases the speed compared to that which can be obtained with ballscrew or rack and pinion drives. The system features full four-sided access to material and parts, a cutting head lighting system, diagnostics and FlowMaster software. The waterjet also features Dynamic XD technology, which provides high-precision taper, and stream lag compensation software, Dynamic Waterjet. The HyperJet pump provides 94,000 psi.
The Mach 3 combines motion control with a high-pressure pump into one compact, fully integrated machine. The system at IMTS will feature Dynamic Waterjet with Active Tolerance Control, which is said to cut two to three times faster than conventional waterjet machines. The ESL intensifier pump, rated at 60,000 psi, will power the tool.
The Mach 2 line is optimized for either pure or abrasive waterjet cutting. The system is capable of fast and accurate cutting, whether cutting 3" thick steel plate or multi-stacked gasket material. The system on display will also be demonstrating Dynamic Waterjet with Active Tolerance Control. It will be powered by the HyPlex Prime pump, rated at 60,000 psi.
