A reader following our coverage of micromachining recently had the idea that this focus might enable him open a particularly compact startup shop. He asked our online micromachining expert, John Bradford, what a shop such as this would need. John’s reply is the best checklist for starting a CNC job shop that I have seen. Here are two points I find significant:
- The machine tool is not close to being the top item on the list.
- The list includes not only hardware and software, but also planning and marketing.
Setting out to offer a guide for micromachining, John ended up producing a useful checklist for pursuing general, high-value machining work. Read the list here.blog comments powered by Disqus
