The Recession in a Photo

Closing the doors on one facility sometimes enables another to grow. In this case, a manufacturing company used a former facility’s service desk as a tool crib.

In a way, Craft Pattern & Mold of Montrose, Minnesota is a living monument to the recent U.S. recession. The story of that recession can be seen in Craft’s facility. The facility used to be a building supply store, which had to close its doors when new home construction dropped. Craft, needing more space as manufacturing activity picked up, moved into the facility last year. In the photo above, what used to be the store’s service counter has now been converted to a tool crib.
