This video from additive manufacturing technology company Fabrisonic shows ultrasonic additive manufacturing being used to produce a mold with conformal cooling channels. The solid-state additive process builds parts by laying metal strip, then fusing this material without melting it. The process can be used not only to build large parts quickly, but also to create parts that combine materials without mixing them.
