Okay, so being a woman covering the mold manufacturing industry, I just have to share this. You guessed it ... it's honoring women in manufacturing. Three women ... among 122 honorees representing all levels of manufacturing ... were chosen because they each made significant achievements in manufacturing.
"TRUMPF Inc. employees, Christine Benz, Annette Doyle and Myrna Reyes, have been recognized by The Manufacturing Institute, Deloitte, University of Phoenix, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers with a Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award for excellence and leadership in manufacturing.
Christine Benz joined TRUMPF Inc. in May 2003 as a laser development engineer. Now as Manager, Project Engineering, she collaborates with the Engineering and Production Departments on large-scale projects, machine installations, new machine designs, retrofits and problem analysis.
As Assembly Department Manager, Annette Doyle is responsible for all aspects of machine assembly production. This department manufactures 350 machines a year. Her production planning and Lean manufacturing initiatives have enabled TRUMPF to increase production and quality goals during the Economic rebound.
Dr. Myrna Reyes, R&D Applications Engineer, combines technical knowledge with strong relationship management skills. In her current role, Dr. Reyes is responsible for qualifying new laser systems for material processing and developing new technologies related to the cutting process. In addition, she acts as liaison with TRUMPF in Mexico."
