To help manufacturers avoid having to scrap older VMCs, Maintenance Technologies offers a MachineMate-based retrofit CNC package for Cincinnati Arrow 500 and 750 machines. Designed as an all-inclusive control replacement package, the retrofit uses Windows format software to improve processing speed and can extend VMC life by as long as 10 years, the company says.

 

With a 2-millisecond servo update rate, the control features Ethernet and USB ports, 20 GB or more free memory and a 15-inch, touch-screen, color LCD display. It is designed to replace the CT unit without any re-drilling or repositioning. Because the package is designed specifically for Arrow VMCs, the retrofit process takes only 2 days including training, the company says.

 

The company also offers retrofit packages for Cincinnati Acramatic 850SX controls, Giddings & Lewsi 8000 controls and custom retrofits for a variety of other CNCs.
