Amada Machine Tools America recently hosted a grand opening ceremony for its North American Technical Center in Schaumburg, Illinois, furthering efforts to build long-term partnerships with customers through consultation and technology demonstrations. Located a few miles from sister company Amada America’s Solutions Center, the facility provides a dedicated, separate location for the relatively new entity’s sales, service and support.

As distinguished from Amada America, which offers punch presses and laser machines, Amada Machine Tools America is the result of a consolidation of the company’s grinding, turning and sawing technology in October last year. The new building, which follows the opening of similar facilities in Japan and Europe, is the latest step by parent company The Amada Group (Isehara, Japan) to separate branding and development for the two business lines.

In addition to a showroom and demo area, the facility includes spare parts storage, a multimedia training space that houses 35 people and presentation and proposal rooms. Featuring lighted tables for design presentations, large flats screens and access points for customer notebooks, the proposal rooms provide a place for staff to analyze customers’ individual requirements and present complete manufacturing solutions.
