Memex introduces the MTC-One, an MTConnect connectivity board for legacy machine tools and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices. The MTC-One is Memex’s third generation of MTConnect connectivity boards and is designed to leave no machine behind when it comes to legacy connectivity on the plant floor. The board’s powerful ARM SOM microprocessor is capable of running Linux, MTConnect adapters, agents and other IIoT software such as Complex Event Processing (CEP) as well as other applications that might be needed to connect to and process data from devices.

The MTC-One includes numerous connectivity options: wireless (Wi-Fi b/g/n) for as many as 110 USB devices, four USB Host (Type A) connectors, a USB (Micro A-B connector) diagnostic port, eight onboard digital inputs (providing optical isolation between the MTC-One and the device being monitored, which allows the MTC-One and the device to be electrically isolated), two onboard digital outputs and analog I/O interfaces, as well as onboard fieldbus/industrial Ethernet protocol interface. A variety of sensors are offered including power monitoring, eight-channel ADC, thermocouple, accelerometer, RH sensor, digital input, DIO and others on the MTC-One roadmap.

The board is of industrial quality with onboard real-time clock and battery backup, graceful shutdown circuitry to prevent data loss, high-voltage surge protection, a Micro SD card slot and DVI-I display connector which can also convert to HDMI for connecting to shop displays. It can be mounted with magnets, screws or din rail.
