Delcam Offers CAD/CAM Software Freely to Training Centers
The initiative applies to all nonprofit institutions that have qualified as Delcam Training Centers in the United States and Canada.
In an effort to help address the manufacturing skills gap, Delcam North America is waiving all fees for any nonprofit organization incorporating its FeatureCAM and Delcam for SolidWorks CAM software into a manufacturing education program. The offer applies to all nonprofit institutions meeting Delcam Training Center (DTC) requirements in the United States and Canada as of April 6, 2015.
The DTC initiative builds on the company’s original FeatureCAM Training Center program. According to Delcam North America President Glenn McMinn, that original program “was created with the intention of allowing training centers the opportunity to properly train students and machinists with skills to seek employment effectively or to improve their current skills.” As that program’s successor, the DTC program enables students to program and create parts in school labs with access to the company’s CAD/CAM software. In addition, institutions receive free access to the company’s online training program and certification course, Delcam University. Teachers can integrate the training into their daily curricula or use it as homework.
