GF AgieCharmilles Partners With Alicona

Machine tool and automation services provider GF AgieCharmilles (Lincolnshire, Illinois) has joined forces with optical 3D measurement solution supplier Alicona (Bartlett, Illinois).   The worldwide collaboration began with 3D laser texturing when GF AgieCharmilles wanted a solution that could scan and digitize natural textures, such as leather or silk, for reproduction on a mold.

Alicona’s InfiniteFocus optical 3D measuring device exceeded the company’s expectations and prompted it to expand the collaboration into the rest of its technology segments, including EDM, high speed milling and high performance milling, says Gisbert Ledvon, business development manager.
