Gleason Corporation (Rochester, New York) has opened a new wholly-owned subsidiary in Russia, Gleason Sales. Located near Moscow in Korolev, the subsidiary will provide sales and service for the full line of Gleason gear-production equipment to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a regional organization of former Soviet republics.
Although Gleason has already served the Russian and CIS markets for many years, the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary represents the next logical step for markets that are expected to see significant growth in many core manufacturing industries, the company says.
