GMTA Promotes Vice President amid Expansion in Mexico
Scott Knoy will oversee company sales and marketing, among other duties.
German Machine Tools of America (GMTA) has promoted Scott Knoy to vice president of the company. He has been with the company since 2005, when it was known as American Wera. Mr. Knoy will continue to oversee the sales and marketing of the company in addition to other administrative duties at the Ann Arbor, Michigan, headquarters. He is also very active with the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA).
Walter Friedrich, GMTA’s president, announced the promotion, adding that Mr. Knoy has played a large role in the growth of the company, including being instrumental in helping GMTA secure a Global Purchase Agreement with General Motors. “Scott has also played a key role in keeping the business running smoothly, especially during the last several years, as we’ve opened our facility in Mexico,” Mr. Friedrich says. The Querétaro facility is now fully functional, with plans for expansion already in the works.
