Hexagon Opens New Romer Factory, R&D Center

Hexagon Metrology (North Kingstown, Rhode Island) has opened a new factory and R&D center in Oceanside, California that will serve as its North American headquarters for the Romer brand of portable CMMs.   The 14,000-square-foot facility was designed specifically for the production of portable CMMS, such as the newly released Absolute portable articulating arm series.

The 14,000-square-foot facility was designed specifically for the production of portable CMMS, such as the newly released Absolute portable articulating arm series. The building’s layout and design integrates the latest JIT and lean manufacturing concepts to enable efficient, cost-effective and higher-volume production of these devices, the company says. It adds that the plant’s expanded R&D facility will drive innovation in the portable metrology market.
