Cutting tool manufacturer BIG Kaiser (Hoffman Estates, Illinois) says its in-house repair center can fix tools at a fraction of the cost and time involved in shipping tools abroad for repair.

More than 90 percent of Kaiser boring tools—even those that are more than 20 years old—can be repaired in-house with an average turnaround of five business days, the company says. Repaired tools are backed by a one-year standard warranty. For the small percentage of tools that can’t be repaired, the company offers demo units at
discounted prices.

The repair team can also fix most BIG Daishowa Profit Maker series tools, including angle heads, High Spindle speed increasers and Hi-Jet holders. Within two days after a thorough inspection and verification process to assess a damaged tool, the company issues a quote highlighting parts that need replacement and total repair cost versus the cost of a new unit. All units are reassembled, re-greased and ready to ship back within five to ten business days, the company says.
