Methods Machine Tools is now the exclusive North American importer of HMCs and VMCs from Kiwa-Japan, a machine tool builder headquartered in Nabari, Japan. The Kiwa line of machining centers and spare parts are available at each of the seven Methods Technology Centers and Methods distributors located across the U.S., in addition to select Methods dealers in Canada and Mexico.

Methods took its first Kiwa order—a KH-45 HMC—in August for Proteus Manufacturing Company, a job shop in Woburn, Massachusetts. The machine features a 400-mm pallet and a work envelope measuring 29.5 inches in diameter and 39.4 inches in height.

In other news, Methods announced the grand opening of a new Technology Center in Tempe, Arizona. The company encourages customers, prospects and media to attend an open-house ceremony from October 14 to 16. The event, which coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary of operating in Arizona, will include displays of various machines as well as technology seminars on five-axis techniques and Swiss-type machining.
