NSK has invested $10 million to expand its Franklin, Indiana manufacturing facility. The motion and control product manufacturer says the move was prompted by increasingly strong business growth with domestic automotive OEMs.

The investment will provide six new roller taper production lines that will incorporate several components from local suppliers, the company says. After full launch, the facility will require 35 new employees, eight salaried and 27 direct. In addition, four engineering positions have been filled at the company’s Ann Arbor, Michigan facility to support continued customer development.

The expansion, which began in July and will continue through 2012, will support approximately $20 million in additional sales, the company says.
