Robotics Trade Group Elects Chairman
Dean Elkins, senior general manager of robotics company Motoman (West Carollton, Ohio) has been elected as the new chairman of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) for 2010.
Dean Elkins, senior general manager of robotics company Motoman (West Carollton, Ohio) has been elected as the new chairman of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) for 2010. Mr. Elkins, the 19th chairman of the industry trade group, succeeds Richard Litt, founder and chairman of Genesis Systems Group (Davenport, Iowa). Mr. Litt will continue to serve on the RIA board.
Mr. Elkins says he is excited to work closely with the RIA board and staff as well as the Automated Imaging Association and Motion Control Association boards to help instill a new excitement and synergy in the automation industry. Initiatives he plans to focus on include RIA brand awareness, retooling trade show and conference events, certification programs for systems integrators and educators, and the development of new safety standard specifications.
