A Smartforce Student Summit will take place September 8 to 12 at IMTS 2014. Open to students, educators, administrators and parent chaperones, the program will provide real-world examples of manufacturing and help connect STEM education to career choices. The free summit will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Students will visit interactive exhibits from national education organizations, manufacturing technology providers, community colleges, and career, technical and engineering schools. They will also have the opportunity to tour the IMTS floor and talk to MTAmbassadors, young manufacturing professionals in their 20s. The student summit at IMTS 2012 attracted more than 9,300 students and educators from 17 states; the organizers expect to host an even larger group in 2014.
