Precision cylindrical grinding machine manufacturer Fritz Studer AG (Steffisburg, Switzerland) is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. The largest employer in Switzerland’s Thun region traces its roots to 1912, when Fritz Studer established a small machine shop in Steffisburg. With no grinding machine for precise parts, Mr. Studer built his own, laying the foundation for a company that would eventually grow to include 800 dedicated staff members and more than 300 representatives in 40 countries.
Since spring 1994, the company has been part of the Korber-Schleifring Group, which also includes tool grinding, profile grinding and other cylindrical grinding companies. It is represented in the United States by United Grinding Technologies (Miamisburg, Ohio).
