The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and PepsiCo have launched a contest challenging young engineers to develop innovative ideas to improve PepsiCo products for a cash prize of $500 per team member. The PepsiCo/Society of Women Engineers Student Engineering Challenge will be open for submissions of team proposals through May 29, 2015. Team member registration and entry submissions can be made at pepsicostudentchallenge.swe.org.

Engineering undergrad students are invited to form teams of up to four members and develop original, technical solutions to enhance the way PepsiCo makes, moves and sells its products. Students are encouraged to develop ideas that will promote sustainability and make a positive impact on society.

Each team will have the creative freedom to approach the challenge from any angle, provided their solutions fall into one of three categories: Packaging, Equipment Design, or Product and Ingredient Processing. The top three teams will present their ideas at SWE’s Annual Conference, WE15, scheduled for October 22-24, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee.
