Tongtai Acquires Majority Share in Transfer Machine Manufacturer
Anger Machining GmbH is headquartered in Austria, with subsidiaries in Germany, Japan and the United States.
To strengthen its presence in the automotive machining market, the Tongtai Machine & Tool Group has acquired a 76 percent stake in the holding company of Austrian transfer machine builder Anger Machining GmbH (Traun, Austria). Tongtai is an OEM partner of Absolute Machine Tools Inc. (Mason, Ohio).
Anger Machining, headquartered in Austria with subsidiaries in Germany, Japan and Ann Arbor, Michigan, custom designs, builds and programs high-performance transfer centers. The productivity and accuracy of these transfer centers are said to be preferred over single- or double-spindle CNC machine tools for machining complex workpieces such as prismatic aluminum components and rotationally symmetrical parts in steel and cast iron.
The partnership of Tongtai, Anger, and Absolute will comprehensively serve customer needs for service, parts and application engineering support for Anger’s transfer centers.
