The five-axis VMX30U and VMX42SR machining centers are designed with specific control technology to increase profitability for shops of all sizes, the company says.
While the control features NC capabilities required for simultaneous five-axis, such as full FANUC compatibility, a 40-GB capacity hard drive, 2 GB of RAM, a USB port, as much as 2,277 bps processing speed, and 600-ipm maximum programmable feed rate, the company’s conversational programming makes converting to five-sided machining straightforward, intuitive and user friendly, the manufacturer says.
In fact, the majority of five-axis machines in the U.S. are used for five-sided machining to reduce setup time and eliminate the typical flipping of parts that is required on three-axis machining centers. Not only do customers increase the profit margin per part; they increase accuracy when they switch from three-axis to five-sided machining on a five-axis machining center, according to the company.
