The GU-650CNC turret-style CNC cylindrical grinder has three grinding wheel spindles mounted on a turret that rotates into position. This allows the operator to have a single setup on the part while leaving the workpiece in the machine and rotating the proper type of grinding wheel into position. The grinder is capable of holding a straight OD wheel, an angle wheel and an ID wheel. An alternate configuration uses two straight wheels for roughing and finishing. The company offers the grinder in two models with 12" swing, the GU-650CNC supports 24" between centers and the GU-1000CNC supports 40" between centers. The GU-650 is available with either manual or CNC programmable turrets.
Editor PickWhen Grinding Is Like Turning
This shop leverages a high-speed peel-grinding process that resembles turning to effectively grind challenging materials such as carbide. Inherently low grinding forces mean high material-removal rates are possible.
