Midaco Corp. offers adaptable pallet changers for virtually all types of machining centers designed to reduce spindle downtime related to part loading and fixture change-over, especially for short-run jobs with smaller lot sizes. The automatic pallet changers are servo-driven and are said to offer a fast pallet change time, with travels as large as 150" × 50" (3, 810 × 1,270 mm).
Once a pallet or load of parts is complete, the next pallet or job is transferred into the machine in seconds, the company says. All loading and job setup tasks are performed offline without the operator leaning into the machine, promoting productivity as well as safety. The pallet systems are designed for easy installation on the right, left side or sometimes both sides of a machine center to reduce floor space.
In addition to its line of pallet changers, the company also offers manual pallet changers with pallet sizes ranging from 16" × 14" (406 × 356 mm) to 60" × 30" (1,524 × 762 mm); manual rotary pallet changers with round pallets ranging from 8" (203 mm) to 12" in diameter (304 mm); and micro pallet systems with 12.75" × 10.5" (324 × 267-mm) pallets. Other products include automatic door systems for single and double-door vertical machining centers and lathes.
