SMW Autoblok introduces the Big Bore BB-EXL-SC2G front-end, spring-clamp power chuck featuring an extra-long jaw stroke of 1.5" as well as increased safety monitoring. For optimal productivity and efficiency, this air chuck uses spring clamping and pneumatic unclamping, cutting costs with lower air consumption. To expedite the setup process, the chuck has a step mode for partial opening and clamping when shimming. As a self-centering chuck, it has an open and clamp time of less than 3 sec., the company says.
Available with an optional control unit, the chuck’s stroke control monitors both the pressure and stroke to ensure that pipes stay in place and that they don’t allow the jaw to move if the pressure is too low.
To maintain increased up time, the BB-EXL-SC2G is Proofline-sealed for low maintenance. The permanent grease lubrication helps the chuck retain constant grip force for more efficient turning.
