The BladeWash aqueous parts washer from MecWash Systems is designed for cleaning internal cooling channels in turbine blades, as well as other parts with internal bores and complex geometries. According to the company, the system completely removes the casting media used in manufacturing so that the blades may be used in an engine assembly. Parts are held in a confined wash chamber, while the high-flow wash process flushes components with water at rates ranging from 256 to 475 gallons per min. (1,000 to 1,800 L/min.) depending on the component and fixturing.
