Chevalier Machinery will be exhibiting six machines, highlighting its FSG-ADIII series, an automatic-precision, surface-grinding machine that is said to offer improved accuracy, quality and ease of operation.
The machine includes an adjustable touchscreen control station and is equipped with a PLC that provides a grind cycle with rough grinding, fine grinding and spark-out passes. An automatic over-wheel dresser with compensation can be added to fully automate the grind process. After the cycle is finished, the table can “park” either left or right of the saddle or at the front to facilitate loading and unloading. The spindle can be set to “stop running” or “continue running.” The wheelhead can also be set to return to the start position or to park at a reference point. Once the cycle is started, the wheelhead will move rapidly to the start point and repeat the grind cycle. If material needs to be removed from both sides, "flip over” can be selected, so that the wheelhead position is at the finish grind height and will start grinding immediately without touching off.
The company will also display the FVM-4034DCL with an automatic angular head changer and a five-face automatic toolchanger; the FVL-1250VTC Series vertical lathe for heavy-duty turning applications; the FBL-360 45-degree slant-bed with rigid boxway structure and programmable tailstock; the compact FBL-510 with dual-chuck capability and 12.5" spindle bore diameter for pipe threading; and the SMART-B818III for high-precision grinding including the production of “mirror” surface finishes with positioning accuracy of ±0.0025 micron and grinding accuracy of 1 micron.
