Republic’s Spanish partner, Maher Holding Group, offers Zayer machines, among others. Zayer’s bridge, gantry and traveling-column machining centers feature a heavily ribbed construction for rigidity, strength and dimensional stability with enhanced wear characteristics, the company says. The modular machines’ longitudinal travels range from 118" to 1,181" (3,000 to 30,000 mm); traveling-column vertical travels range from 78" to 236" (2,000 to 6,000 mm); and vertical travel on the cross rails range from 47" to 118" (1,200 to 3,000 mm) in both bridge and gantry machines. The cross rails’ cross travels range from 159" to 218" (4,050 to 5,550 mm). All the machines’ ram vertical travels range from 49" to 78" (1,250 to 2,000 mm).
 
A variety of ram spindle attachments are also available. The company’s custom, automatic 45-degree universal head features two axes of 360,000 positions with an increment rotation of 0.001 degree. The two-axis spherical is used for contouring complex shapes and curvatures. Both the 45-degree universal and the two-axis spherical geared heads are capable of 6,000 rpm and have full power capability ranging to 100 hp. The two-axis spherical electro-spindle ranges from 16,000 to 24,000 rpm with 53 hp. Conventional ram attachments include the direct outlet straight head and the “L”-shaped right angle. The ram attachments all feature spindle orientation and are temperature-stabilized by a refrigeration unit.
