Carbide Series for Turning Steels and Stainless Steels

Sumitomo will display its AC810P, AC820P and AC830P grades featuring super fine and flat (FF) coating at IMTS 2012.

New Product Announcements From: 7/11/2012 Modern Machine Shop

Sumitomo’s AC810P, AC820P and AC830P grades feature super fine and flat (FF) coating that is said to be more wear-resistant than conventional coatings and reduces the possibility of chip adhesion due to its smoothness. Combined with carbide substrates, the series offers higher speed capabilities and a greater resistance to breakage than conventional carbide grades when machining steels and stainless steels, the company says.

The AC810P is designed for finishing steel and stainless steel at high speeds. The AC820P for general-purpose machining is available in a wide variety of chipbreakers, including the high-efficiency EGE. The AC830P is designed for interrupted applications and is said to be able to withstand more impacts than conventional P30 grades.
