Big Ass Fan’s Powerfoil X industrial ceiling fan is equipped with LED lighting that provides as much light as a 400-W metal halide light. The light covers the entire diameter of the fan while using less than 175 W, the company says, and the optical properties of the tempered glass lens minimize glare. The light is said to be easy to install and ties directly into an existing lighting grid for simple control.
The energy-efficient Powerfoil X fan generates gentle air movement using small, 1- to 2-hp motors to cool large areas. With the integration of the LED, the fan eliminates the need to rearrange lighting grids to counter the shadowing effect that may occur with large ceiling fans, the company says.
