LICO USA offers LNT-D and LNT-S Series CNC multi-slide lathes with an eight-potion tool turret to ensure highly repeated positioning accuracy and rigidity. With 0.15 to 1.2 seconds rapid precision indexing, the tool disc has a built-in coolant nozzle directed straight to the tool tips.
Four compound slides permit longitudinal turning, complex contouring, thread chasing by simple carbide insert tools for OD work as well as drilling, boring, threading, recessing and tapping with ID conventional form tools.
 
LNT-D Series lathes include an 11-axis Siemens 840-D CNC controller with optional 36- to 65-mm maximum bar diameter models. With LNT-S seeries models, a pickoff device catches workpieces before cutting them off. After indexing to the opposite direction, the workpiece is ready for back machinig. This option allows for mounting as many as four gang toolholders or as many as three live toolholders or a second, eight-position turret for back machining. There is also an optional front-sdie turret (three-turret version) or tool tower to add tools or Y-axis capability on the main-spindle slide.

Robotic Cell Cuts Cycle Time, Improves Part Quality

Sew-Eurodrive Inc. worked with Okuma America’s authorized systems dealer, Gosiger Automation, to design an automated cell that includes an automatic, magazine bar feeder that loads 6-ft. lengths of barstock into the machine. The shop also switched to an Okuma twin spindle, twin turret turning center so all of the machining operations are completed in one setup, thus eliminating additional fixtures and operator intervention. The resultant system reduces cycle times and requires much less operator involvement. As a result, production time per part was more than cut in half – from about 5 minutes to 2 minutes, 20 seconds.
