Coolant-Through Drills Boost Metal Removal Rates
OSG Tap & Die has added coolant-through capabilities to its Hy-Pro Carb 3D and 5D drill series.
OSG Tap & Die has added coolant-through capabilities to its Hy-Pro Carb 3D and 5D drill series to enable higher feeds and metal removal rates. The drills’ point and flute geometries are designed to reduce thrust forces and chip size. A multi-layered TiAlN coating resists thermo-cracking from heat to improve wear resistance. Common DIN shank sizes are designed to improve rigidity and reduce the number of toolholders needed to accommodate them.
