The company’s drilling, milling and threading ranges will be grouped into two productivity classes, “Elect” and “Spectrum.” According to the company, Elect represents top performance in particular materials and specific applications, and Spectrum represents versatility over a multitude of materials and operations.
New items include additions to the company’s solid carbide “one-hit” deep hole drilling program. Branded Elect APP, these drills are designed to make holes with depths from 15 to 30 times the diameter. All drills feature Advanced Chip Management flute geometry and Super-Flow surface treatment. According to the company, these two elements ensure consistent forces throughout the drilling cycle with little or no increase in torque generated.
In addition, the company’s range of Spectrum multi-material taps has been expanded. Both thread cutting and thread forming taps are available in a variety of thread-forms, substrates and coatings. The thread cutting taps provide increased wear resistance through a combination of material and geometry that ensures low material adhesion, the company says. The thread profile of the forming taps generates low torque for longer tool life and surface finish, while the stable design reduces the risk of tap breakage.
