Lucifer Furnaces’ Red Devil dual-chamber RD8-KHE24 oven is designed for energy-efficient high performance and space savings in toolroom applications. An upper hardening chamber capable of heating to 2,200°F is stacked above a tempering oven that heats to 1,200°F. Both chambers measure 24" × 14" × 12" and are insulated with 4 1/2" of lightweight firebrick and mineral wool. The firebrick is precision dry-fit with stagger seams for reduced heat loss while enabling thermal expansion for reduced maintenance costs. Long-lasting low-watt-density heating elements that provide uniform heading are located in side wall panels that are easy to replace. The furnace and oven chambers are individually controlled with Honeywell digital time proportioning controllers mounted in a NEMA 1 panel on the side of the furnace, away from the hot loading area.

Insulated horizontal swing doors feature cam locks for a tight seal and safety microswitches to shut off power when doors are opened. Vertical lift doors and over-temperature safety systems are also available as options. Ceramic hearth plates protect the floor and can support a workload ranging to 25 lbs/ft.2 of hearth. A high-volume recirculating fan is mounted in the rear of the tempering oven for horizontal air flow, providing uniform heat for stress relief and other applications.
