FANUC CNCs for Five-Axis and High Speed Machining Offer Added Fairing Technology

For smooth and accurate simultaneous five-axis high-speed machining, FANUC’s 30i-B/31i-B5 CNCs now feature High-Speed Smooth TCP with added fairing technology. This is said to reduce cycle times while improving part accuracy. In addition, Series 30i-Model B controls (including 30i-B, 31i-B, 31i-B5, 32i-B and 35i-B) provide enhanced high-speed and large capacity, multi-path programmable motion control for large-scale sequencing with a maximum of five concurrent independent ladders. According to the company, execution of common instructions is more than 2.5 times faster than the previous generation of CNCs. Improved operability for large machine tools is achieved with the Series 30i-B CNCs using the new iPendant. This handheld operator’s unit provides for both manual data input and manual machine control as integrated by the machine builder. A 6.4” color liquid crystal display screen shows the identical pages used by the 8.4" or 10.4" display, including a machine builder’s custom screens for operator familiarity. Touch screen capability is also available. A built-in USB port supports transfer of data to standard USB flash drives.

 
Also on display is the Power Motion i–Model A CNC for general industrial machine applications such as press machines, die cushions, loaders, wire saws and winding machines. It is designed for multi-axis and multi-path functions with a maximum of four control paths, a total of 32 axes and simultaneous control of four axes.
