The Diamond Linear high-speed, gantry-type milling machine from Parpas SpA features thermal deviation control for high-accuracy, five-axis machining in a variety of environmental conditions. The machine uses linear motors on the X, Y and Z axes and torque motors for the milling head's rotational axis. The milling head features a 20,000-rpm, 30-kW spindle, generating 100 Nm of torque to perform roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations on workpieces as large as 2,200 × 1,500 × 1,000 mm. Designed for rigidity and accuracy, the machine handles a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum and composites to suit applications in the aerospace and die/mold industries.
