Oxford Instruments’ handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer, the X MET7000, provides materials analysis, verification and screening for a variety of industrial markets, including positive material identification, metal recycling, scrap sorting, precious metals analysis, mining and heavy metal screening.

The device features a fast, user-friendly interface, powerful reporting tools and long battery life, the company says. It is available with a choice of calibration packages tailored for a range of materials screening applications. A high-contrast 4.3-inch Blanview transmissive LCD touchscreen ensures optimal outdoor viewing, and the results screen can be user-customized to show only elements of interest or to create pass/fail messages. A history view enables browsing of old results and spectra.
